Let us introduce a third option of Shipping Advices: Partial no Backorder.
With this feature, we are handling partly shipped sales orders where the outstanding quantities won't be shipped.
If the sales order are created by intercompany flow from another companies purchase order - even the purchase order in this company is handled with updated quantities.
Back order management do also support transfer orders.

Order status

Give orders statuses based on events and what conditions are fulfilled.
